As part of Mayor Satya Rhode-Conway’s MetroForward >> initiative to provide better transit access to the community, the City of Madison is partnering with MMSD to distribute free summer Metro Transit passes to all middle and high school students in the MMSD attendance area for the first time.
Passes will be valid Wednesday, June 9 through Monday, September 7. This special summer program will provide free rides to incoming 6th grade students through outgoing 12th grade students to make it easier to get around to jobs, volunteer opportunities, camps and other opportunities.
Middle and high schools will be distributing passes from June 2 through June 15. Each individual school will communicate with students and families how to pick up a pass, so watch for an email from your student's school. Families of 5th grade students can call any middle or high school to request a pass.
If students are unable to pick up their bus pass by June 15, students can go to any middle or high school summer semester site between June 21 and July 30 (closed July 5) to receive a pass.
We want to thank the City of Madison for helping our students bridge transportation gaps by providing our students with safe, environmentally responsible and efficient access to the city.
