Registration Now Open for MMSD’s 2024-25 Athletic Season, Featuring New Renovations

Student-athletes, coaches and fans alike are gearing up for another exciting season of athletics in the Madison Metropolitan School District. Starting Thursday, Aug. 1, students enrolled at any of MMSD’s four high schools are encouraged to register to participate in co-curricular athletics programs.

The start of the 2024-25 athletic season marks the unveiling of brand-new renovations at MMSD athletic facilities across the high schools, including: football and soccer fields, tracks, pools, weight lifting gyms, basketball and volleyball courts, locker rooms, concessions, and more. The crucial upgrades were made possible by Madison community members’ overwhelming support in voting for the 2020 referendum.

“The public’s commitment to our athletics program is supporting not only high school students, but also students in middle school through our new programming, and Madison residents who utilize these facilities,” MMSD Athletic Director Jeremy Schlitz said. “It not only grows each individual school community, but also connects the entire district together with the greater Madison community.”

MMSD offers approximately 24 different sports programs through participation in the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association, developing not only athletic skills, but also commitment, reliability, honesty, integrity, accountability and perseverance in student-athletes.

Football, Poms and cheer kick off Tuesday, Aug. 6, followed by girls golf, girls tennis and girls swim and dive on Aug. 12 and 13 and volleyball, cross country and boys soccer on Aug. 19.

To register to participate in the 2024-25 athletics season, guardians can log into their Infinite Campus Parent Portal and complete the necessary forms. Students must have a current physical date after April 1, 2023 to be eligible to participate, which will be available for free at each high school’s new school-based community health clinic.
