MMSD Superintendent Dr. Joe Gothard Introduces Entry Framework
“People. Purpose. Pride.”
Dr. Joe Gothard officially introduced his entry framework, “People. Purpose. Pride.” This framework provides insight into Dr. Gothard’s priorities and plans, which are key to shaping his future work at the Madison Metropolitan School District, and invites the community to engage with him on his work.
“My leadership transition provides a unique window of time to reground, reconnect, learn and understand MMSD and the community as a whole, which is important to the work we have ahead,” Gothard said. “I am committed to working collaboratively with stakeholders, leading with transparent communication and ensuring our decisions are grounded in what is best for our students.”
Dr. Gothard’s entry framework is built on three foundational pillars:
- People: Focusing on people shows our commitment to continuing to engage with our stakeholders and keeping them informed about what is happening in MMSD. We also need to collaborate as we plan for the future.
- Purpose: A shared purpose enables us to collaborate toward collective goals, lead with transparent communication, and make decisions in the best interest of our students.
- Pride: We must be proud of the students we serve, our work and our MMSD community's rich history.
“Entry plans are pretty common for new superintendents, but I’d like to offer that this isn’t just a once-in-time plan,” Gothard said. “This speaks to the many ways that I want to engage with the community on an ongoing basis. I want to emphasize that I cannot accomplish our goals alone. Together, we can positively impact our students’ lives and build a brighter future for them and MMSD.”
A project webpage shares updates and progress made on Dr. Gothard’s entry framework. In addition, a new video has been added to the “Meet the Superintendent” web page.
