Celebrate the Summer Kickoff of 'MSCR on the Move' on June 16

Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is launching its "MSCR on the Move" summer season, bringing free art and play opportunities to local parks and playgrounds. The initiative includes the Art Cart, Clay on the Move and Play on the Move programs, all delivered via mobile vans throughout the summer.
Mobile Madison 2025 Events
- Monday, June 16 at Brittingham Park, 5-7pm (Movie: Sonic 3 at 6:45pm)
- Tuesday, June 17 at Warner Park 5-7pm (Movie: Moana at 6:45pm)
- Wednesday, June 18 at Elver Park 5-7pm (Movie: Dogman at 6:45pm)
Mobile Madison is a collaboration of organizations offering free, mobile activities across Madison neighborhoods. Participants can also enjoy activities from the Madison Reading Project Big Red Reading Bus, the Madison Public Library & Dane County Library Service Dream Bus, the Madison Children's Museum Roadshow, and Madison Parks Sina Davis Movies in the Park.
Last year MSCR served more than 5,100 people with its mobile recreation program.
"With these bright, mobile units, we're bringing the fun right into neighborhood parks," said MSCR Executive Director Mary Roth. "Children and their families can easily join in on games, pottery and other art activities."
MSCR on the Move vehicles/programs:
- Clay on the Move
- Discover the world of clay through hands-on experiences! Clay on the Move is a free mobile pottery program offering handbuilding and potters’ wheel opportunities for community members of all ages in the Madison Metropolitan School District.
- Play on the Move
- Play on the Move is a free, drop-in mobile play program for the community in the Madison Metropolitan School District. Play on the Move brings the fun to your neighborhood park! Get ready for games that giggle, activities that zoom and play that unlocks the magic of imagination!
- Art Cart - Celebrating 50 years!
- The Art Cart is a free, drop-in traveling art program that provides creative art-making experiences to children ages 3+ and their families. Art Cart is held in partnership with Madison Museum of Contemporary Art (MMOCA).
